Origins on-going Plant A Tree programme was created as an alliance with
Global ReLeaf -American Forests? education and action programme that helps individuals, organisations, agencies and corporations improve the local and global environment by planting and caring for trees. By the end of 2006,
Global ReLeaf planted 25 million trees in more than 500 projects across the United States and internationally. Our goal is to help
Global ReLeaf expand its projects across the country and globe.
By planting trees around the world, we can help restore areas damaged by wildfire, where critical wildlife habitat has been lost, and help clean our air and water.
- Trees can make a home 20 degrees cooler, saving an average of £114 a year in air conditioning costs.
- 1 tree annually produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen to help us breathe better.
- Trees help offset greenhouse gases from our cars and homes.
- One young, healthy tree is equivalent to ten room-size air conditioners, operating 20 hours a day.
- Trees are home, shelter and nourishment for animals.
