• Tree planting day details:

    Event date: 26th February
    Event time: 9:30am - 3:30pm
    Maximum capacity: 24

The Vyne’s ancient trees provide the rarest form of habitat found in Europe. Amazingly, a single mature oak tree can support more than 1000 different species at any one time. Sadly, the numbers of ancient and ‘veteran’ trees is steadily declining worldwide, and so are the many species that depend on them.

To help reverse this decline, The Vyne are restoring their historic ‘Parkland Avenue’, once an important feature of the designed landscape and setting which dates back to the 18th century. Oak trees are a native tree species which was once widespread throughout southern England and one of our most significant trees for wildlife, especially for our native invertebrates.
